Taito G-Net BIOS Flashing Instructions

Taito G-Net BIOS Flashing Instructions. The newer games that are written to Compact Flash require this BIOS update to run.

V2.0 BIOS archive here.

Process;

Extract > Burn to M27C800 > Remove PCMCIA card from Mobo > Bridge Jumper JP1 > Insert M27C800 > Power on > wait for a couple of minutes.

There will be a few progress bars across the screen. The first indicates the flash, the second (no idea) and the third validates the flash. After it has completed there are two lines of Japanese text asking to remove the EPROM and jumper, insert a game card and reboot. Job done.

Thanks to Dave_K. for the images. http://arcadefever.blogspot.com/

    Any ideas?

  9. Sorry Peter, no idea. I have flashed two G-Net systems with the archive and not run in to that problem. Is the message on screen constantly? Does the motherboard still work? Did it flash verify ok? Best bet is to verify the EPROM has burnt correctly and try again.

  10. It seems to flash ok. How can I tell if it's flashed ok? Still works with original games. With CF games I get the Taito start screen then the System Error 000777. I have compared the eprom with the .bin and it passes ok. Might the CF card be too new? Sandisk Ultra 4gb 30Mb/s.. Does it work with any version CHD's?
    Thanks for your help.

  11. This is the original Taito BIOS and will only run legit CF card games.
    A friend of mine has modified this code to run CHD images (similar to the G-Net modbios) but that's not quite ready for release just yet.

  12. Ah ok that explains a lot.
    :/ and I just bought a new mobo just to rule out a broken mobo.

  13. Ikotsu - would you mind posting the link to modbios again please?

  14. Right now the project is on hold and has not been released in to the wild. If you're willing to pay through the nose for a BIOS someone else has released one here.
